
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.”
The singer has been in the spotlight for various controversies, including his recent claim of undergoing psychiatric treatment in Ogun State. However, the police dismissed his statement, maintaining that he remains wanted for an ongoing investigation.
Portable was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command after allegedly leading an attack on officials of the state’s Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development. The officials were reportedly assaulted at Odogwu Bar while enforcing regulations at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota.
Efforts are now underway to transfer the singer to Ogun State for further investigation.
