Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known professionally as Asake, has reacted to a viral video featuring a man who claims to be his father and accuses him of abandonment.
The man, identified as Fatai Odunsi, tearfully pleaded for financial assistance, revealing that he has been battling a stroke. He alleged that Asake last visited him in March 2022 when his health deteriorated.
In the video, Odunsi said, “Good day everyone, I am the father of Ahmed Asake, the singer. The last time I saw him was in March 2022 when my illness started. If I call Asake, he doesn’t pick up. Please help me; I need your support.”
In response, Asake took to social media, seemingly addressing the situation through a song.
Singing in Yoruba, he suggested that his father was trying to manipulate him despite his past generosity. His lyrics conveyed, “You can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God and always remember the day you will meet your Creator. My people, can you see? Even my father wants to cajole me. I used to send him money wholeheartedly. No one can stop my shine; God is leading my way.”
Asake’s reaction has sparked mixed reactions among fans and the public.
