APC Speaks on 2027 Report of Nomination Form Prices

In a strong reaction, the ruling party described the report as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard the information.

The controversy followed reports alleging that presidential aspirants would pay ₦200 million, while state assembly hopefuls would be charged ₦20 million for forms.

Reacting in a statement, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the alleged price list did not originate from the party.

He stated clearly that no decision had been taken regarding the sale or pricing of nomination and expression of interest forms.

According to the party, the report was entirely fabricated and should not be taken seriously by members or the general public.

The APC maintained that it has not commenced any process relating to the sale of forms for the 2027 elections.

It further advised party members, the media and Nigerians to ignore the publication, describing it as misleading.

Meanwhile at the convention, the party concluded its 8th National Convention with the emergence of new and returning members of its National Working Committee.

At the gathering held at Eagle Square in Abuja, Nentawe Yilwatda emerged as the National Chairman.

Also elected during the exercise was Surajudeen Basiru as National Secretary, alongside other party officials.

The convention further returned Felix Morka as publicity secretary and Dayo Israel as youth leader.

Party leaders present at the event included Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, lawmakers, governors and other stakeholders.

Speaking after his emergence, Yilwatda described his re-election as a call to greater service and appreciated the party for the confidence reposed in him.

Political parties in Nigeria often release guidelines and pricing for nomination forms closer to election periods. However, with early political activities ahead of 2027 already gaining momentum, misinformation and speculation have also increased, prompting parties like the APC to clarify their positions.
