The Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) on Thursday formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during the APC National Summit held in Abuja.
The motion was moved by the Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, and seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, Governor Uzodimma stated that the APC governors are fully aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and are committed to working for his re-election.
“We are satisfied with the midterm review and performance of President Tinubu’s administration,” Uzodimma said. “We, the governors, have resolved to ensure that Mr. President carries our party’s flag again in 2027, and we take full responsibility for delivering the mandate in our respective states.”
The governors also expressed confidence in the President’s leadership style and ongoing reforms, noting that his inclusive governance and developmental policies have earned him the trust of Nigerians.
This endorsement comes on the heels of a similar vote of confidence recently passed by North Central APC governors, who also lauded President Tinubu’s performance and reaffirmed their support for his administration.
