His Excellency,
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,
The President and Commander in Chief,
Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Your Excellency,
OTUN EKITI INDIGENES FEEL SLIGHTED FOR NON INCLUSION OF TWO OF THEIR SONS AMONG THE HONOURED JUNE 12 PAST HEROES .
Greetings on behalf of the entire indigenes of Otun-Ekiti in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State. Trust this finds you well.
My name is Olusesan Aina, the Chairman of Egbe Omo Otun, Ado-Ekiti branch, Ekiti State. I write on behalf of my people to draw your attention to the grievance and displeasure of the entire indigenes of Otun Ekiti over omission of the names of two of their children, Dr. Nathaniel Falaye Aina and Comrade Ola Oni.
The roles played by these prominent sons of one of the ancient towns in Ekiti State cannot be forgotten in a hurry going by the history.
Dr. Nathaniel Falaye Aina was the former deputy governor in the then old Ondo State. He was also the leader of NADECO and AFENIFERE when EKITI STATE was created and later became the first chairman of Alliance for Democracy in Ekiti state.
Also, Comrade Ola Oni, a renowned socialist/ economist who fought the military autocracy with his blood, retired from University of ibadan.
All of us in Otun-Ekiti unanimously say that the list of the honoured past heroes of June 12, 2025 is considered inaccurate and incomplete with the omission of the names of these two illustrious sons of Otun Ekiti.
The two men had fought a good fight and their names apart from considering them for the National Honour, had been written in gold as Nigerian history can never be completed without making reference to the great impacts they both made.
In view of the roles they had played, I hereby on behalf of the good people of Otun Ekiti urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take note of this by taking the step to do the needful as a matter of urgency.
Thank you for your anticipated consideration as we look forward to hearing from you in this regard.
Accept our highest regards always.
Sincerely yours,
Signed.
Olusesan Aina.
Chairman, Egbe Omo Otun Ekiti,
Ado-Ekiti branch, Ekiti State.
