ADP Governorship Candidate, Ojo Ayodeji Tope (OAT) Visits Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti  …. seeks royal blessings ahead of election

The visit, which took place at the monarch’s palace in Ikere-Ekiti, attracted party leaders, family members, and key supporters, marking the candidate’s first major traditional engagement since declaring his ambition.

Speaking during the visit, OAT said his decision to begin his political journey at home was deliberate, stressing that “charity begins at home.”

He explained that paying homage to the traditional ruler was a sign of respect for the culture, traditions, and authority of the people of Ikere-Ekiti and Ekiti State at large.

The governorship candidate formally informed the monarch of his intention to contest for the state’s highest office, noting that his ambition was driven by a desire to deliver inclusive governance, development, and people-oriented leadership across the state.

“I believe leadership begins with respect for tradition and consultation with our fathers,” he said, adding that he’s seeking not only royal blessings but also moral guidance as he prepares for the political journey ahead.

The event also witnessed the presence of the candidate’s deputy, alongside other dignitaries, party executives, and stakeholders, including the party’s women leader, who attended to show solidarity and support.

In his response, Oba Adejimi Adu commended the aspirant for following due process and recognizing the role of traditional institutions in governance. The monarch offered prayers for wisdom, protection, and success, while urging the aspirant to place the interest of the people above personal ambition.

The governorship candidate also visited Chief Gabriel Ogundola of Emila Compound to keep him informed of his ambition. The visits ended on a note of goodwill, with party members and supporters expressing optimism about the candidate’s growing consultations and engagement across the state ahead of the election.
