Renowned Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus showed a rare, emotional side on Thursday as she openly expressed her longing for motherhood during a public appearance.
The 42-year-old actress made the heartfelt plea at a ‘Feed The Needy’ outreach program held at Temidire Primary School, Shogunle, Oshodi. The initiative, organized in collaboration with Seyi Tinubu, focused on providing support to underserved communities in Lagos.
In a video from the event that has since gone viral, Eniola addressed attendees with tearful sincerity, asking them to remember her in their prayers. “Please, always include me, Eniola Badmus, in your prayers. I am waiting on God for the blessing of children. With your prayers and God’s support, I will continue to serve this community and work towards a better future for all of us,” she said.
Reflecting on Her Roots
The actress, who also serves as the Special Adviser to the Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass, expressed her gratitude to the Shogunle community, where she grew up.
She paid tribute to her late father, Mr. Badmus, a two-time counselor in Shogunle, who passed away seven years ago. Calling for a moment of silence in his honor, she remarked, “My father taught me to love our people deeply and to prioritize service. No matter where life takes me, my heart will always be here in Shogunle.”
Eniola reassured the crowd of her unwavering commitment to the community, stating, “I am yours, Shogunle, now and forever,” a declaration that drew cheers from the audience.
Personal Life and Public Speculation
While the actress is celebrated for her vibrant on-screen presence, she has remained private about her personal life. In a 2016 interview, she revealed she was in a relationship but emphasized her desire to approach marriage thoughtfully.
Over the years, Eniola has refuted rumors linking her romantically to rapper Iceberg Slim and singer Davido, as well as debunking a fake wedding photo that circulated online in 2015.
Her emotional appeal for prayers and her dedication to her roots have further endeared her to fans and the community, highlighting her as both a role model and a symbol of resilience.
