The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has made her acting debut in the Netflix fantasy series Aníkúlápó: The Ghoul Awakens, directed by filmmaker Kunle Afolayan.
The development came to light after Dabiri-Erewa shared a short video clip from the series on her official X handle, formerly known as Twitter.

In the clip, she appears in the role of the Iyalode, a prominent female traditional leader who intervenes to restore peace between feuding communities.
Dabiri-Erewa described the role as a short but impactful appearance in what she referred to as Afolayan’s legendary epic, encouraging viewers to watch the series now streaming on Netflix.
The appearance represents her first experience in acting and a departure from her long-standing career in public service and media.
Her casting, which was announced in mid-January 2026, forms part of an expanded cast for the series.
Other new cast members include Portuguese actor Pedro Teixeira and Nigerian media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as KieKie.
Aníkúlápó: The Ghoul Awakens premiered on Jan. 30, 2026, and serves as a continuation of the 2022 film Aníkúlápó.
