 By Ayodele Abere

The Chairman who described good governance as the pride of the electorate stated this while speaking with our correspondent shortly after his inauguration with the promise to replicate good governance in the Local Government as demonstrated by the State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji

Oluwatuyi noted that the major responsibility of every Local Government Chairman is to bring governance closer to the people at the grassroot. He said that’s exactly what his administration will represent in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area.

Describing the present administration of Governor Oyebanji as excellent, the Chairman opined that  Ekiti State has never had it like this ever before.

“In a situation where the Governor has grounded  the opposition parties in the State through his ‘Omoluabi spirit’, definitely you can see that he has done a very great job and also, through his excellent performances and transparent governance, we have never had it so good like this in Ekiti State,” he said.

Oluwatuyi advised the people of his Local Government to be patient an optimistic as he explained that year 2023 was very challenging adding that this year 2024 is full of hope.  “All they have to do is to be patient with the present administration and also pay their taxes”. He advised.

While appealing to the people of his local government to prioritise the payment of taxes, he emphasized that citizens have to play their own roles by paying their taxes as expected of them for government to be able to do all that is needed to be done saying that his administration will be very aggressive in that area of tax collection.
