How Makinde Destroyed PDP in South-West – Fayose

During an interview on TVC, Fayose alleged that Makinde had cornered major assets in Oyo State, claiming that the governor took over choice lands and sidelined many individuals who worked for his political success.

He further alleged that several party loyalists who supported Makinde’s rise to power have been pushed aside, insisting that the governor no longer carries them along in governance and party affairs.

Fayose also blamed Makinde for what he described as the collapse of PDP structures across the South-West, saying the party has been seriously weakened under his influence in the region.

Commenting on developments in Osun State, the former governor raised concerns over the party’s internal process, alleging that a candidate who did not purchase a PDP nomination form eventually emerged as the party’s flagbearer.

Recalling a past political incident, Fayose claimed he was attacked during a political engagement in Osun State, alleging that the attack was orchestrated by Makinde, whom he dismissed as politically inexperienced.

Speaking on his own political background, Fayose described himself as an elder statesman, stressing that he won the Ekiti governorship without the support of a political godfather.

The former governor also reaffirmed his loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, declaring that his political alignment remains with the FCT minister.

Fayose concluded by restating his commitment to the PDP, insisting that he has no intention of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).
