Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has denied claims that he plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his political stance remains firm.
In an interview aired on TVC, Fayose said his political alignment is closely linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, noting that he would remain wherever the minister stands.

The former governor openly declared his loyalty to Wike, describing their political relationship as strong and consistent. He said he would follow Wike’s political direction at any time.
Despite his frequent criticism of the PDP leadership in the South-West, Fayose stressed that he has no plan to join the APC, insisting that he remains committed to the PDP.
Fayose was a key member of the G-5 Integrity Group within the PDP, led by Wike, which distanced itself from the party’s presidential campaign during the 2023 general election over disagreements on zoning and power rotation.
Members of the G-5 opposed the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate, arguing that the party violated its rotation arrangement.
Fayose, alongside Wike, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, worked for the election of President Bola Tinubu of the APC, while former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom supported Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
