Women in the public service who desire career growth have been urged not to be intimidated in any capacity they found themselves especially in the male dominated cadres.
Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo, permanent secretary, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission gave the charge when Women Administrative Officers in the Ekiti State Local Government Service paid her a solidarity visit in her office in Ado Ekiti.
Toba-Ojo who described the roles of women as very important in nation building stated that they are priceless and urged them to remain focused both at work and at the home front.
She stressed that though women are often perceived as being tough in positions of responsibility, Toba-Ojo counselled that they should be fair, equitable and unwavering in doing good at all times adding that goodness is the only investment that never fails.
Earlier, Mrs Adenike Bamisile on behalf of Women Administrative Officers in the Ekiti State Local Government Service congratulated Mrs Titilayo Toba-Ojo on her appointment as the Permanent Secretary, Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission described it as well deserved.
Bamisile who presented a souvenir on behalf of the Women Administrative Officers to Mrs Toba-Ojo attributed her appointment by the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to her exceptional skills, dedication and commitment to the public service.
She described her as a woman of substance, candour and a worthy ambassador of women folks noting her appointment as a source of inspiration for aspiring and focused female public servants.
According to her, Mrs Toba-Ojo’s appointment is a true reflection of her capacity and competence.
Expressing confidence in her ability; she said her new roles as a permanent Secretary comes with greater responsibility and stressed that the Forum was confident that she would excel in providing a new leadership for the Local Government System.
According to her, Mrs Toba-Ojo’s vast experience and proven leadership qualities will undoubtedly bolster efficiency and effectiveness in the service. “Your unwavering dedication and passion for efficient service delivery and personnel motivation leave us with no doubt that you will profoundly impact the local government service positively”, she said.
Mrs Bamisile therefore wished the Permanent Secretary success as she assumed office.
