It was a celebration like no other as Saint Patrick Catheral, Ekiti Catholic Diocese, Old Garage and Hassanat Event Centre, Basiri, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State were today filled to the brim as a prominent Chief, the Asolo of Ikole Ekiti, High Chief, Olu Micheal Ogunsakin celebrates 70th Birthday and 45th chieftaincy anniversary in grand style.
The event which was well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life including political office holders, Government functionaries, Traditional rulers and Chiefs across the sixteen local government areas of the State could be simply described as a carnival of who is who in the society.
Aside the outpour of accolades on the celebrant, different adjectives were equally used to describe the personality of High Chief Ogunsakin who is the Chairman, Traditional Chieftaincy holders in Ekiti State based on their good relationship and experiences with him.
While speaking with Journalists, one of the guests said Chief Ogunsakin, an ICT expert and computer guru has impacted many lives and that he has shown rare leadership skills as a community leader in Ikole Ekiti.
Also, the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assemby, Rt. Honourable Steven Aribasoye, praised the celebrant for his contributions to the growth and development of Ikole Kingdom.
Represented by the Deputy Speaker, Aribasoye prayed God to grant the High Chief good health to celebrate many more years in life.
In the same vein, a former member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Adebayo Morakinyo who said the celebrant is his in-law showered encomium on him for being a true father and mentor.
Likewise, the Iyalaje of Ikole Ekiti, Chief Mrs Akinola Oduayo attested to the fact that, Chief Ogunsakin is a lover of all and that he is skillful in crisis management and peacemaking.
In his own remark, the Babalaje of Ikole Ekiti, Chief Eziaku Obasi King described Chief Ogunsakin as a humble man with high sense of integrity, wishing him many more years in good health.
At the special thanksgiving service held at the Saint Patrick Cathedral, Catholic Diocese of Ekiti State, Reverend Father Bimbo Joseph advised people in the position of authority to rule with the fear of God and shun pride.
The man of God congratulated Chief Ogunsakin on his new age and urged him to continue to serve God and show more love to people around him.
In an interview, Chief Ogunsakin confirmed that he is fulfilled which was the reason for the celebration.
The septuagenarian noted that living for seventy years and serving as a community leader for forty five years despite all odds calls for celebration.
The Asolo of Ikole Ekiti appreciated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, his wives, children and well wishers for celebrating him.
