GWR: 2023 Igogo Festival In Owo, Adjudged As Best So Far

The International franchise, Guinness World Records have listed Igogo 2023 as the best festival in Owo Kingdom, Ondo State, in the last 800 years.

This ton of achievement was made possible through the unprecedented large turnout of people with their uncommon display of love and unity from diverse communities as portrayed in the harmonious relationship among the indigenes both at home and in the diaspora who came to share in the joy of the day without hitches.

The height of it was when the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III stormed the festival with his friends within the town, those who came from other parts of Nigeria and different countries of the world to celebrate with him.

When the mammoth crowd converged at Ojomo Market, the entire community was agog as  one of the significant things was that Horses refused to walk due to some sacrilegious phenomenons until proper rites were carried out and homages were paid.

The festival, which was celebrated in late September seized all nooks and crannies of the kingdom, as there was no vehicular movement, with a massive turn out that nearly left all houses closed.

Speaking on his Facebook page, the Olowo of Owo, said: “What else could show the significance of love other than a Kingdom trooping out in one accord to celebrate a festival established on the basis of LOVE

“Igogo 2023 is divinely orchestrated for a greater OWO

UNITED we STAND in LOVE.”

Despite diverse cultures from tribes, Igogo 2023 accommodated people from different ethnicities, with dimples of smiles on faces of all.

“Although, I am not a Yoruba man, I am an Igbo man but, I am happy to participate in this festival”, one of the guests said.

While prayers were enchanted on the monarch, the celebrants also prayed God to grant them long life and prosperity to witness the next one in good health and oneness.
