Sayari Dunia Sustainable Tourism Foundation (SDSTF) joins the global community in commemorating the International Day of Climate Action, celebrated annually on October 24th, reaffirming its commitment to promoting climate action, biodiversity conservation, and regenerative tourism across Africa.
The International Day of Climate Action is a worldwide movement initiated by young people concerned about the growing threats of climate change and global injustice. It serves as a vital reminder of the environmental consequences facing the planet, from rising sea levels and heatwaves to habitat destruction and prolonged droughts. This year’s theme underscores the urgent need for collaboration, advocacy, and innovation to combat climate change and safeguard the planet for future generations.

In line with this, Sayari Dunia Sustainable Tourism Foundation continues to play a key role in integrating climate action into Africa’s tourism agenda. Through its initiatives — including the Africa Tourism Climate Action Forum (ATCAF), the Reforest Africa Initiative, Women in Tourism Trade and Sustainability Africa WITTSA — the foundation drives conversations and tangible actions that connect tourism, trade, and sustainability.
“Our mission is clear: to make tourism in Africa a force for environmental regeneration and socio-economic resilience,”. It is the pathway to securing livelihoods, preserving biodiversity, and empowering communities, especially women and youth.”
As part of its ongoing climate programs, Sayari Dunia works closely with youth-led organizations, women’s groups, cooperatives, local communities to promote green development, climate education, and responsible tourism practices. The foundation’s initiatives focus on tree planting, renewable energy advocacy, waste reduction, and policy engagement to support Africa’s transition toward a low-carbon tourism economy.
Sayari Dunia is calling on governments, private sector stakeholders, and individuals to take bold steps toward sustainability and climate resilience. The Foundation believes that collective action from reforestation and clean energy adoption to sustainable travel choices can significantly reduce Africa’s vulnerability to climate change.
“Every action counts,” the statement added. “Together, we can reimagine tourism as a driver of climate recovery and create a greener, more inclusive Africa.”
