Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has sworn-in Alhaji Ahmed Tukur as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Afraimu Jingi as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; alongside two others.
Others are; Isa Hardo as the Head of Service (HOS) and Usman Ahmed as State Auditor General.
Speaking during the swearing-in in Yola, Fintiri described the SSG as a dedicated and committed public servant with wealth of experience and invaluable knowledge to guide the affairs of his administration.
“I have complete faith in his ability to effectively coordinate the activities of various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, (MDAs) to ensure that the administration’s policies and programmes are executed efficiently for the benefit of our people,” he said.
The governor equally congratulated Jingi, describing him as accomplished legal practitioner known for his unwavering commitment to justice and rule of law.
According to him, he has full confidence that his deep understanding of the legal landscape, coupled with his impeccable integrity, will enable him to provide sound legal advice and ensure the effective administration of justice in the state.
“His appointment signifies our unwavering commitment to upholding the principles of fairness and equity in Adamawa State.
“To the new Head of the civil service and State Auditor, our state is in dire need of restoration and you must bring to bear your experience in the service to support our rebuilding process which we started four years ago,”he said.
Fintiri urged them to discharge their duties diligently by keeping the interest of the people of Adamawa at the forefront of their minds.
He implored them to embrace teamwork and collaboration with other members of the cabinet.
“I encourage you to seek innovative approaches to governance, tapping into the vast potential of our state and ensuring that every citizen has a voice and a stake in our collective progress.
“I urge you to prioritise the welfare of our citizens, especially the vulnerable and marginalised groups in our society.
“Let your actions be guided by compassion and a genuine desire to improve the lives of our people,”he said.
Responding on behalf of other appointees, Tukur, expressed gratitude to Adamawa government for entrusting them with the responsibility.
He pledged on behalf of others to fulfill their duties with dedication and with the fear of God.
