The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) said it has concluded arrangements to host its governors-elect to a reception and send off past chairmen on Thursday.
The forum disclosed this in a statement issued by its Director-General, CID Maduabum in Abuja.
He said, while the forum would be receiving governors-elect on the platform of the party, it would also used the occasion to send off past chairmen of the forum, including Segun Mimiko, Ayodele Fayose, Ibrahim Dankwambo and Seriake Dickson.
Maduabum said the event under the leadership of the forum, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, would feature a discussion on “Good Governance at the Sub-National level: Issues, Perspectives, Expectations and Outcomes”.
He said the discussion which is to be presented by the Guest Speaker and a renowned economist, Dr Muda Yusuf, would lay out the challenges facing governance at the sub-national level and possible solutions.
“The programme will serve as an opportunity for PDP leaders, stakeholders and members to come together, since after the general election.”
Maduabum said that the event would hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja at 1pm
The event would be receiving seven governors-elect including, Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.
Others are: Ameopusenibo Fubara of Rivers State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara and Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau.
Three re-elected governors, expected at the event were: Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa.
Maduabum said the outgoing governors of the party would also be honoured during the ceremony for all their services to the forum.
They include: Tambuwal of Sokoto State who is the incumbent Chairman; Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State (Vice Chairman); Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State; Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue.
Others are: Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta; Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State; Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers; and Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba
Maduabum listed dignitaries expected at occasion to include: PDP acting National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Damagum and Members of the National Working Committee; the party Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar; former Vice President Namadi Sambo.
Others are: former PDP governors, current and former PDP Presiding/Principal Officers of the National Assembly, Party leaders, stakeholders, friends and well wishers.
