Red Cross To Train Osun Amotekun Personnel On First Aid, Safety

The International Federal Red Cross said it would collaborate with the South-West Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) in training their personnel on first aid and safety.

Mr Moses Taiwo, the Director of International Federal Red Cross and Security, Abuja, stated this in Osogbo, during his visit to the Osun State Commander of the Amotekun Corps, Brig- Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi (Rtd).

Taiwo appreciated the corps commander for hosting the organisation, lauding the corps for its wonderful accomplishments in the state in tackling crimes.

He said that the achievements of Amotekun in tackling crimes and marauders was what encouraged the organisation to collaborate with them in the area of training their personnel on first aid and safety during their operations.

“The Red Cross is ready to partner with relevant stakeholders in the state, in curbing crime and providing first aid and safety training for their personnel.

“We are more determined for synergy and collaboration, to collectively eradicate crimes across the board.” he said

In his response, Adewinmbi, the Osun Amotekun Commander, appreciated the Red Cross, stating that they were also ready to collaborate with the organisation in educating their personnel on First Aid and Safety.

He thanked the organisation for acknowledging the corps and assured them that the corps would not relent in protecting the lives and property of residents in the state.

He also assured the organisation of their safety in the state and that the Amotekun was ready to assist them anytime they needed their attention.

“Osun has been peaceful for a very long time and Amotekun is in every nook and cranny of the state.

“The Osun Amotekun Corps is ever ready to collaborate with other security agencies to curtail crimes in the state,” Adewinmbi stated.

Adewinmbi urged the general public to beware of some alleged hunters impersonating as Amotekun personnel anytime they were caught in indecent acts.

He charged the residents of the state to contact the state Amotekun Field Commander on 09060972647 whenever they were suspicious of the agency they are dealing with so as to clear their doubts
