Zamfara Anti thuggery Commandant Calls For Security Intervention

Mr Bello Bakyasuwa, the Commandant Zamfara Anti-thuggery Agency, has sought for security agencies’ intervention over incessant attacks on him by suspected gunmen.

Bakyasuwa in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday said his life is in danger.

“I Bello Bakyasuwa, the Commandant, Zamfara State Anti Thuggery Agency, escaped being assassinated by suspected hired killers on my way to Kaduna from Gusau.

“I am currently on hospital bed, my life is in danger, I am facing incessant attacks by suspected sponsored gunmen.

“I narrowly escaped death, last Four days on my way to Kaduna along Funtua-Zaria”, Bakyasuwa said.

He alleged that his attackers are sponsored by politicians. “You know, that day I left Gusau for Kaduna in My Hilux Car. I noticed that two Hilux and BMW vehicles were behind me, I stop at Yankara Security Check up, the two vehicles passed me.

“I continued with my journey. After I passed Funtua around 8:30 pm, there is one community called Gangara along Funtua-Zaria road, I noticed that the Hilux and BMW vehicles were chasing me and eventually the BMW vehicle double crossed and forcefully stopped me on the road.

“The people inside the two vehicles just started shooting on my vehicle, we spent few minutes exchanging fire with them. I jumped out of my Hilux after which I sustained dislocation on my leg and injuries on my face.

“Those in the Hilux continued shooting at me, I was able to escape and ran inside bush with bleeding in my body.

“After 15 minutes, the police Hilux arrived the place, they quickly rescued me and took me to a one Primary Healthcare in one nearby village”, he explained.

The Commandant called on security agencies to come to his aid, “I am  appealing to security authorities to investigate and arrest the perpetrators of my attack”
