Easter: FUOYE VC, Fasina Rejoices With Staff, Preaches Love, Tolerance

The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria, Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina, has felicitated with Christian members of staff, students and the university community as the world celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, urging them to be passionate about Godly activities.

Besides, the Vice-Chancellor charged them to make undiluted love their watchword as Jesus Christ did on the cross some thousands of years ago.

In a statement entitled “Easter celebration,” issued to Journalists in Ekiti State by the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, Prof. Fasina on behalf of the Council, management, staff, students and the university community, tasked members of staff and students on the need to embrace love, peace, resilience, tolerance and dedication “as we celebrate Easter and to remember our obligation as God’s children to love one another.”

It reads: “On behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff, students and the university community, I felicitate with the Christians in the university on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration in commemoration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

However, the VC, who pointed out that Easter was all about Jesus Christ’s passion, crucifixion and death, urged members of staff, students and the university community to embrace peace, love, dedication, tolerance and steadfastness to drive the institution to greater heights especially as the love for humanity propelled Jesus Christ to sacrifice himself for us all.

He called on staff and students to activate the spirit of love as Easter celebration was all about selfless service to humanity, unparalleled love and total obedience to the will of God.

He said: “As we observe Easter this year, let us embrace the essential message of Christ’s ministry and show love to one another. I wish you all a wonderful and fun-filled Easter.”
