A prominent Journalist in Ekiti State, Comrade Rotimi Feyisina has called on spirited members of the public to always reach out to the vulnerable children, particularly those with disabilities.
Feyisina made the call during a visit to an orphanage home for children with disabilities, ONAOPEMIPO Centre for Children and Youths with Special needs in Iwaro Quarters, Ado-Ekiti on Friday to commemorate his birthday.
Presenting material and cash gifts to the Centre, the pen pusher who was moved with compassion , owing to the situation of the kids, appealed to Government, philanthropists and other good hearted members of the public to come to the aid of the orphanage home.
Receiving the gifts on behalf of the children, founders of the Home, Pastor and Mrs Ojo Olumide commended the birthday boy for the gesture, calling on other members of the society to take cue from him
They noted that the challenges faced by the Centre included cost of physiotherapy, feeding, suitable accommodation and basic education for the children among others.
The Centre which was recognized by the Ekiti State Government last year as one of the best NGOs dealing with children with disabilities, requires major help to complete the structure accommodating the Children and also provide basic needs for their comfort.
