Faparusi Hails Oyebanji for Winning Multiple Governor of the Year Awards

Faparusi, former House of Representatives member, described the feat as well deserved and portrayed Ekiti State as having a governor who places high premium on the welfare of the citizens over and above any other consideration.

The management of Silver bird  Television, had last week announced Governor Oyebanji as the Governor of the Year, after locking in fierce battle with other governors to win the race.

Barely a week after the announcement, a coalition under the auspices of Nigerian Human Rights Community(NHRC), had pronounced Governor Oyebanji as the best governor of the year in terms of commitment to promotion of Human rights and civil liberty.

Faparusi, in a statement released by his Media Office and made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, revealed that such multiple awards winning streak corroborated that Ekiti is enjoying the best governance under the current Governor.

The former federal lawmaker applauded how dispassionate the two organisations were in making the right choice in Governor Oyebanji, whom he branded as a selfless and prudent leader, with topnotch humility and inclusive instinct in leadership.

Cataloguing some of the Governor’s achievements that earned him the laurels, Faparusi was enthralled with the gradual completion and opening of the Ekiti State Agro Allied Cargo Airport for full fledged operation.

He  described some of the laudable achievements being enjoyed under the present government as part of the gains of continuity of governance the governor has brought to the state.

He lauded the governor for expediting actions on the completion of the Ekiti State Ring Road Phase One that traversed over six communities to create a new suburban Ado Ekiti metropolis and decongest the capital city of traffic snarl.

“The flagship of Governor  Oyebanji’s government was the Cluster Farming he initiated to drive the Youth in Commercial Agriculture Programme. Today, Ekiti is nearing food security status, while over 900 youths are engaged in commercial farming, thereby reducing unemployment.

“Little wonder, all the strata of Ekiti State, including workers, traders, Okada riders, politicians across party lines, motor dealers, driver unions and many others have endorsed the governor for a second term barely two years he mounted the saddle of governance.

“This portrayed him as a leader that has been tested and who can be trusted with power and leadership.

“I congratulate the governor on this feat and wish him well in  his current and future engagements”
