Iyaloja General Network Initiative Inaugurated In Ekiti, … Urges Womenfolk To Vote For Tinubu

By Ayodele Abere.

All women in Ekiti State and  Nigeria at large have been enjoined to come out enmass on the day of the forthcoming general elections and vote for the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Coordinator of Iyaloja General Network Initiative (IGNI), Ekiti State Chapter, Mrs Modupe  Ayoola Oladele, who made the appeal in Ado- Ekiti, while inaugurating the new political support group which has the first daughter of the APC candidate, Mrs Folasade Tinubu Ojo as the initiator and National Coordinator said that it is one of the ways to realize the victory of Tinubu.

Speaking on the importance of the group in the forthcoming general elections, the State Coordinator explained that the group was established across the nation for the purpose of mobilising women in general to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Shettima in the Saturday 25th February, 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria. Adding that women will not be left behind in his administration if he emerges President.

Following the inauguration, Mrs Oladele, said all the Coordinators in the sixteen Local Government Areas of Ekiti State are expected to go back to their various local governments including the Local Council Development Areas of the State  to mobilise women to vote for the APC Presidential candidate.

Also, the Director of Media and Communication for the group, Hajia Oluwafunlayo Lawal, while encouraging all the women in attendance, said the assignment given to them is not limited to mobilisation of market women alone but the entire women in all spheres of life. Saying they have to go to the grassroots and inform the people what they stand to gain by voting the right man, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that BAT is the best candidate for a better Nigeria and the only way to pay him back is for the women and Nigerians as a whole to cast their votes for him on the day of the election.

“We know that if he becomes the president, it’s going to be the dawn of a new era in Nigeria because he will correct all the wrongs”.

Speaking further, Hajia Lawal explained that INEC  is not going to count the number of the days of their fasting. “What INEC will count is your thumb print and what will make that thumb print possible is your Permanent Voter Card (PVC)”.

She therefore urged everyone to go and get their PVC which she described as the ticket that could grant them access to vote and elect the candidate of their choice. Adding that if anything goes wrong, they will be able to challenge INEC. “But if you don’t vote, you can’t challenge anyone.”Your PVC is your right’. Lawal emphasized.

Members of the group across the State having pledged to vote the APC candidate for the sake of their children, implored the State Coordinator, Mrs Oladele and other members of the leadership of the group to be very open and carry them along in everything they do.

Mrs Oladele, who was once the President of Ekiti State Women in Politics gave her word of assurance that none of them will be disappointed as she equally emphasized on the need to work very well for Asiwaju’s victory.

Other members of the executive in attendance were the Public Relations Officer of the group, Mrs Aina Abiodun and the Treasurer, Mrs Cecilia Ojo.

Highlight of the occasion was the special prayers offered for the candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his running mate, Shettima and the National Coordinator, Chief Mrs Folasade Tinubu Ojo, that God in His mercy will continue to strengthen them and that their labour will not be in vain by the time Asiwaju becomes the president.
