A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Bamisile, has hailed Governor Biodun Oyebanji over the implementation of the N70,000 Minimum Wage to workers across board.
Bamisile said this in a statement issued by his Media Office in Abuja and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti, on Tuesday.
There was wild ecstasy among workers in Ekiti State on Tuesday, as government paid the N70,000 and Consequential Adjustment signed into Law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the December Salary.
Reacting to the implementation, the Chairman, House Committee on Delegated Legislation, said the action further amplified that Governor Oyebanji is truly a “talk and do” governor as being touted by admirers.
He urged the workers to reciprocate the gesture with loyalty and patriotism to the current administration, so that the governor can deliver all his electioneering campaign promises to the populace.
“I am specially thrilled by Governor Oyebanji quickly acceding to the request of workers on whose shoulders the economy of our dear state rests firmly.
“We run a monolithic civil service structure and whatever affects that arm will trickle down to the traders, farmers , and other sectors of the economy.
“I congratulate governor Oyebanji and the entire workers of Ekiti State on this feat that will be a game changer in cushioning the effect of the current hard biting economic situation on the populace”.
However, Bamisile appealed to traders to desist from unwarranted hiking of the prices of commodities in a manner that will erode the gains inherent in the new minimum wage policy.
