The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at politicians questioning the existence of the Rainbow Coalition, saying some of them lack the ability to promote unity within their families and communities.
Wike made the remarks on Monday in Abuja during the commissioning of a Civic Centre and an interactive session with stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gwagwalada Area Council.

The minister described the Rainbow Coalition as a platform for political stakeholders from the two parties to work together, stressing that its purpose was to encourage unity, cooperation and development across the FCT.
He criticised those casting doubts on the coalition, accusing them of failing to understand the importance of working together despite their political positions.
“Some politicians are selfish and do not understand the meaning of unity. They cannot even bring their families or communities together, yet they question the existence of the Rainbow Coalition,” Wike mocked.
The minister’s remarks came amid discussions over political cooperation among stakeholders of the APC and PDP in the FCT.
The Rainbow Coalition, as described by Wike, is intended to bring political actors across party lines together to support cooperation and development in the territory.
