NDC Assembly Candidate, Olonitola Olakunle Appreciates Supporters, Seeks More Support For 2027 Poll

In a statement issued on Sunday, Olonitola said his decision to join the race was motivated by Nigerians who still believe in the capacity of youths to transform the nation and build a better Nigeria anchored on rule of law, respect for the land and preservation of cultural values.

He disclosed that he initially had no intention to participate in politics, but was compelled by the prevailing challenges of poor leadership, corruption, economic hardship and prioritisation of personal interests over public welfare.

“Remaining on the sidelines would not help matters. I therefore consider it both necessary and a responsibility to step forward and contribute my quota towards rescuing our people from poverty, insecurity and inequality,” he stated.

Olonitola lamented that Nigerians have continued to suffer under ineffective leadership and policies that create hardship and uncertainty, stressing that it was time for a new generation of responsible, accountable and people-oriented leaders to emerge.

He expressed optimism that through collective determination, unity and purposeful leadership, the nation can be rebuilt socially, educationally, morally, economically and politically.

The candidate identified the declining standard of basic education as a major concern, noting that the neglect of public schools persists because many political leaders do not patronise them.

“Unfortunately, many of our political leaders do not send their children to public schools in Nigeria, yet millions of ordinary Nigerians depend on these same schools. This has contributed to the neglect and deterioration of the learning environment. Our children deserve quality education and equal opportunities to succeed,” he said.

Olonitola appealed to supporters to support his vision through financial contributions, prayers, mobilisation and encouragement, adding that every contribution would be greatly appreciated.

He maintained that if youths unite and participate actively in the democratic process, it would be possible to vote out ineffective and self-serving leaders and usher in responsible governance.

He pledged to work towards restoring the glory, dignity and greatness of the nation, noting that a better Nigeria is achievable through courage, sacrifice and collective action.

“Together, we can make a difference and build the Nigeria of our dreams,” he added.
