Renewed Appointment
President Tinubu also approved the renewal of Fatima Umaru Shinkafi as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund (SMDF) and the Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (PAGMI). Shinkafi, first appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari, is credited with driving significant changes in the solid minerals sector.
An earlier announcement of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as Executive Secretary of SMDF/PAGMI was rescinded, as there is no vacancy in the agency.
President Tinubu expressed confidence in the appointees, stating that their expertise and track records would bring renewed commitment and progress to their respective organizations, aligning with Nigerians’ expectations.
