Popular Actor Baba Gbenro Passes On

The news of his death was shared by his colleague, Oluwaseun Adejumobi, on his verified Instagram account on Thursday. Adejumobi wrote, “Heaven’s Gain Again. A General Has Gone to Rest.”

Gospel actor Zoe Adeola also paid tribute on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Rest in peace, Baba Gbenro. Your role in Abattoir will always be remembered. It’s truly heartbreaking.”

Michael Adelakun, the founder of Paramount Ministry, confirmed the actor’s death.

He revealed that Baba Gbenro had been struggling with diabetes for some time, though he couldn’t confirm if it was the direct cause of death.

Popularly known as Baba Gbenro, Korede Are was born on 11 June 1959. He grew up in Kano State, Nigeria, where he received part of his early education, later studying in Plateau State before moving to southwestern Nigeria for higher education.
