The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, has passed away at the age of 56.
President Bola Tinubu announced his passing in a statement released by the President’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday.
Lagbaja passed away on Tuesday night in Lagos after a period of illness.
President Tinubu expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family and the Nigerian Armed Forces during this difficult time.
He wished Lt. General Lagbaja eternal peace and honored his significant contributions to the nation.
