The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that over 1.5 million out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scored below 200.
According to the official breakdown released on Monday, only 420,415 candidates scored 200 and above in the just-concluded examination.

Further analysis showed that 7,658 candidates scored between 300 and 319, while only 4,756 candidates scored 320 and above.
The figures reflect a consistent trend of low performance among UTME candidates in recent years.
