CIPA Felicitates Muslim Faithfull On Eid-Maulud, Calls For Unity, Tolerance,  Nation-Buiding

In a statement issued by the CIPA Media Director, Mr. Charles Abere, ANIPR, the Director General of CIPA, Dr. Abigail Olagbaye, described the celebration as a moment for sober reflection on the Prophet’s exemplary life of piety, justice, selfless service, and devotion to humanity.

Dr. Olagbaye prayed to Almighty Allah to grant all Muslim faithful the grace to celebrate many more Eid-Maulud in good health, peace, and prosperity.

“Eid-Maulud is more than a celebration. It is a call to duty. It reminds us of the values of compassion, tolerance, equity, and service to others that the Holy Prophet embodied throughout his life,” she said.

“As citizens, we must draw inspiration from these virtues to build a Nigeria where justice reigns, where leaders serve with integrity, and where citizens live together in peace regardless of faith, tribe, or political affiliation.”

CIPA noted that Nigeria is at a critical juncture that demands unity, sacrifice, and patriotism from all citizens and leaders alike.

The group urged political actors, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to shun divisive rhetoric and actions capable of undermining national cohesion, especially as the country prepares for the 2027 general elections.

“We must use this season to recommit ourselves to the Nigeria project. The challenges before us can only be overcome when we place national interest above personal, ethnic, or religious considerations,” Dr. Olagbaye stated.

CIPA called on governments at all levels to use the spirit of Eid-Maulud to deepen policies that promote social welfare, economic empowerment, and security of lives and property.

The group also urged citizens to extend hands of fellowship to the less privileged during and after the celebration, and to use the period to pray for peace, stability, and progress of the nation.

“As we rejoice with our Muslim brothers and sisters, let us remember that nation-building is a collective responsibility. Let love, understanding, and mutual respect guide our conduct,” the statement added.
