LCDA Chair, Toyin Ojo, Bags Award Of Excellence In Ekiti   — Awarding Media Outfit Urges Him To Keep Flag Flying

The Chairman, Ado Central Local Council Development Area, Ekiti State, Hon.Toyin Ojo, has been conferred with an Excellence Award by a Lagos-based media outfit, Evergreen Media Consult, for what was described as exceptional service and bringing governance to the door-steps of the people in his jurisdiction.

The Managing Partner of Evergreen Media Consult, Mr Charles Abere, who presented the award to Hon. Ojo, said the Chairman has contributed his quota to a reasonable extent by putting smiles on the faces of his people and almost everyone that has had the opportunity of meeting with him. 

“As we all know, the Executive Chairman, Ado Central Local Council Development Area, ADCLCDA, Hon. Toyin Ojo,  has made reasonable landmarks in terms of projects execution to develop his LCDA in spite of the paucity of funds which has always been the major complaints of some of the local government and LCDAs chairmen who could not do much in their own areas”.

Mr Abere wondered why the council boss was able to achieve much within the short period he came in the saddle,  thereby standing out among his colleagues when it comes to developmental accomplishments. 

“When he celebrated his hundred days in office, we were here to grace the occasion, and I can confidently say here today that  he was the only chairman that had laudable projects to show for his hundred days in office”. 

Some of the achievements of Hon. Ojo include: Befitting council secretariat, Internally-generated revenue drive, Seminars,trainings and workshops to enhance workers productivity, Ten water points for the people of Oke-Oniyo, Four water points for the people of Moferere, Four water points for Sasere compound and people of Igbeyin, Five water points at Arowa compound for people around Erekesan market, Ten lock-up shops at Bisi market, One hundred capacity hall for Ado Central LCDA.

Similarly, undergoing projects for ten solar street light at Oke-Oniyo, ten street solar light at Igbeyin and fifteen lock-up shops at Oke-Oniyo among others. The Managing Partner advised the chairman to keep the flag flying.

Chairman of the occasion, Hon Mike Akinleye, described Hon. Ojo as a performer who has executed many projects for his constituent, and someone that gives due attention to the welfare of his staff. He said it is better to honour someone for his/her attainments in every aspect of human endeavour when he/she is alive. 

Hon. Akinleye appreciated Evergreen Media Consult for deeming Hon. Ojo fit  for the award after due assessments by the media outfit. “The  LCDA Chairman has laid good foundation for the council”. Akinleye concluded.

In his response, the award recipient, Hon. Ojo expressed gratitude to the management of Evergreen Media Consult for bestowing such honour on him. He attributed his feats in the council to the grace of God. 

“I am very happy because an award of this kind that is coming from the press is a high-rated award. So I am happy to get this kind of award  from the Evergreen Media Consult. My mission is to make my LCDA a pacesetter. 

Speaking further on the secret for his success story, the council chair said  immediately he got into office, he prioritized his policies and programmes with a view to attending to the yearnings and aspirations of the people that were instrumental to where he finds himself today, since there is paucity of fund all over the country, at the federal, state and local government levels. “Since I prioritized these, I was able to save money to actualize all  that I have done for the council. 

He urged his staff to sustain their loyalty, cooperation and support for the good of the council, and be more dedicated to their duties. He admonished other council chairmen to see their positions as a call to service for the people, adding that all power belongs to God. “Whatever we possess in this life is ephemeral”.The Chairman added.
