Alumni Solicit Oyebanji’s Support Towards School Renovation    … As Babatope Memorial High School Clocks 50

The National President of the Association, Pastor Kayode Adeosun  made the appeal at a press conference organised as part of the activities to mark the 50tth  anniversary of the school.

Speaking for the National President, Mr. Taiwo Akanbi said upgrading of the school with a modern facilities  becomes very imperative following the dilapidated state of some of the buildings in the school.

He noted that as part of efforts to give back to the school, the old students would officially unveiled the renovated laboratory, urging government and other well meaning Ekiti people to complement their efforts.

The National Secretary highlighted some of the activities lined up for the 50th Founder’s Day anniversary to include; Rally round the town by the students which will be held on Tuesday, Quiz Competition on Wednesday, Career Talk on Thursday, jumat service on Friday, novelty match and tree planting on Saturday.

Other activities include; Commissioning of Laboratory Block,  Presentation/Launching of Anniversary Magazine, Reunion Day/Award Ceremonies, while the programme would be rounded off with a Church Service on Sunday at the  Apostolic church, Ikoro Ekiti.

Mr. Akanbi expressed immense gratitude to founders, past principals, teacher’s, alumni and stakeholders for their dauntless efforts in shaping the school. 

He further reassured of the school’s commitment to academic excellence, community service and nurturing future leaders.

Responding to the question on the Alumni contribution towards the growth of the school, a member of the association, Mr. Lucas Bamidele disclosed that the alumni had contributed tremendously towards the development of the school ranging from guidance of students,  electrification of the school, provision of lawn mowers, financial support for the provision of extra teachers, reviving the schools inter house sports, renovation and equipment of the chemistry laboratory and many others.

On Examination Malpractice, Mr. Bamidele affirmed that the alumni would support  Oyebanji’s government’s policy on eradication of malpractices in the school system, hoping that all necessary measures be put in place to end such act in the State.

In his words, “We are happy about the policy of the present government, the BAO led administration that if possible, malpractices should be wiped out of schools”. 

“So we are with the Governor on this, every muscle that could be mustered to eradicate malpractices particularly in Ekiti State should be done and we are in support “.

Another member of the association, Mr. Shola Dada called on the State Government to look into schools infrastructure as well as quality of teachers sent to the school to ensure that they are up to standard. This, he said, will help improve the school system.
