The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has solicited the support of the Judiciary to tackle the increasing number of unregistered vehicles and motorcycles in the state.

CP Falade made the appeal on Thursday during a working visit to the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, in his office in Ado-Ekiti.

Addressing the Chief Judge, the Commissioner said the visit was to seek judicial collaboration in enforcing the Inspector-General of Police’s directive on the clampdown of all unregistered vehicles and motorcycles operating without proper identification.
He noted that the proliferation of such vehicles, particularly outside the state capital, had become worrisome and was posing security challenges.
“Though no institution is perfect, with the judiciary’s guidance, Police operations in Ekiti have been successful. I came to Ekiti barely three months ago and have since hit the ground running,” CP Falade said.

He also appealed to the Chief Judge for continued judicial support to ensure effective enforcement and prosecution of offenders.
The IGP had recently directed commands nationwide to intensify enforcement against unregistered and unidentified vehicles and motorcycles as part of efforts to enhance internal security.
