Strive For Excellence, EKSU VC, Ayodele Charges Fresh Students

Professor Ayodele, who graduated from  the University as the overall best graduating student in 1992, gave the charge while addressing matriculants at the matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted candidates into the Sandwich Degree programme of the University for the 2024 Contact Session. 

Statement by the Deputy Registrar/Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, reveals that the matriculation ceremony was the first ceremony Professor Ayodele was presiding over since his assumption of office as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.

The Vice Chancellor, who described matriculation ceremony as the official commencement of students’ academic voyage in the university, advised  the matriculants to give priority to their academic work above any other activities adding that ‘Faith without work is dead’.

While emphasizing the fact that students who go through Sandwich programme are not inferior to those in the regular programme, he encouraged them to feel free to come to the main campus to interact with their counterparts and enjoy the facilities available there such as the Main Library, Laboratories, among others. He further advised the freshers to live up to the matriculation oath by avoiding all unethical acts that could affect them negatively as well as tarnish the good image of the University.

The Registrar of the University, Mr Ife Oluwole administered the matriculation oath on the students.

The event had in attendance Principal Officers of the University, Deans of Faculties, Directors, Heads of Departments and others.
