The Special Adviser, Media to Dr Wole Oluyede, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming election in Ekiti State, Gani Salau has made the assertion that Ekiti people will not vote for the incumbent Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for second term based on nonperformance .
Gani Salau in statement made available to the media in Ado Ekiti while reacting to a release by Oyebanji”s Special Adviser , Media, Yinka Oyebode on the performance of Oyebanji that will make Ekiti people to vote for him for second term.
Salau categorically stated that the Governor has been rejected and what Ekiti people are waiting for is the election day which is about three months from now.
He condemned the statement referring to Oyebode as fabricated and misleading.
“How can Oyebode say that the Governor has performed to the expectation of Ekiti people which will be transformed into vote? Instead, Ekiti people are determined to vote against him for nonperformance”.
“He can only showcase a one kilometer overhead bridge. The few roads are fixed by RAMP. He can only tell us that he is in good relationship with all the former Governors as achievement. Can these translate into votes considering what comes to Ekiti State monthly and the IGR?
Salau further explained that all what Ekiti people can see as development from the Oyebanji”s government is propaganda, deceit and total disregard to the core interest of the people.
He assured that Dr Wole Oluyede will do it differently if elected in the forthcoming election based on his laudable plans for the state in the areas of power generation, wealth creation, empowerment of the people through direct financial infection and taking the jobless youths off the street for enduring engagement.
Oluyede’s media aide opined that the people of Ekiti State will reject Oyebanji through massive votes against him because Ekiti is yearning for genuine change that will reflect directly on them.
” You see posters in every fifty meter, billboard like in hundred kilometer that now adorn everywhere in this state just because of reelection. A sitting Governor seeking for second term painting everywhere with all this automatically has seen the handwriting on the wall and the confidence of his people is no longer available “.
He called on electorate to reject Oyebanji totally through their massive votes for Dr Wole Oluyede who is having the interest of Ekiti people at heart in the forthcoming election.
