Ekiti Ministry Of Environment Cautions Residents Against Driving During Rain

Reacting to the tragic incident, Erelu Tosin Aluko – Ajisafe, the Commissioner for the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and extended heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones.

“This is heartbreaking and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased during this difficult time. We are deeply saddened by the loss of life due to the flooding in Ureje. Such incident reminds us of the importance of prioritizing safety and taking precautions during adverse weather conditions.” Ajisafe-Aluko said.

The Commissioner emphasized the need for residents to remain vigilant and exercise caution, especially during heavy rainfall. She urged the community to avoid unnecessary risk and to heed safety warnings issued by authorities.

“The safety and well-being of our residents are of utmost importance,” she continued. “We urge everyone to stay informed, stay safe, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families.”

The Ministry reiterated its commitment to implementing measures to mitigate against flooding and enhance disaster preparedness across the state. The Commissioner assured residents that the government would continue to prioritize initiatives aimed at safeguarding lives and property from the impact of natural disasters.
