Council Boss, Oniyelu Urges Residents To Be Security Conscious  … sets to partner online media

The Chairman made the admonition while fielding questions from the members of Online Media Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Chapter who were led by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Ayodele Abere on a courtesy visit to his office in Ilupeju-Ekiti.

Underscoring the importance of journalists in information dissemination, Hon Olusola Oniyelu who wants every developmental programme of the council to be well projected by the members of the online media has agreed to partner the chapel for regular reportage of his activities.

While giving assurance that the local security in the Council area are working hand in hand with other conventional security personnel in the State to ensure security of lives and property, he maintained that some measures have been put in place to contain insecurity in the area.

However, the Chairman appealed to the residents of the Council area to always inform their families of their movement whenever they are going out or embarking on any journey, noting that walking alone this time around could be dangerous.

Oniyelu equally pointed out that the security measures put in place are to compliment the efforts of the State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who according to him has been working tirelessly to ensure that the issue of insecurity becomes a thing of the past in the State.

The Chairman commended the state government effort to ensure the safe release of the pupils and staff of the Apostolic Faith Nursary and Primary School, Emure Ekiti who were recently abducted by unknown gunmen while returning home after school hours. 

In another development, he commiserated with the families of the two traditional rulers who were also killed in the State and called on the concerned authorities to ensure that the culprits are brought to book.
