44 To Bag 1st Class At Redeemer’s Varsity        … As VC Commends Adeboye’s Untiring Support

The Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Ede in Osun, Prof. Anthony Akinlo, has disclosed that, 44 of its graduating students bagged first-class degree. 

The Vice-Chancellor made the disclosure at the 15th pre-convocation press briefing held on Monday in Ede.

Akinlo said that 290 of the students bagged Second class upper representing 38.7 per cent, 264 with Second class lower division, representing 35.2 per cent. 

Another 74 graduating students were awarded with third class, representing 9.8 per cent and 3 with pass, representing 0.4 per cent.

The Vice-Chancellor, said that three students from the Nursing Sciences and Physiotherapy, are graduating with a pass with distinction, representing 0.4 per cent, 58 bagged pass with credit, representing 7.7 per cent, and 6 with a pass, representing 0.8 per cent .

In the Diploma category, Akinlo said that 3 students bagged upper credit division, representing 0.4 per cent, and 5 with lower credit, representing 0.7 per cent.

The Vice-Chancellor said the university had graduated 6,995 students since inception, while a total number of 750 students would be awarded with degrees during the current convocation.

The Vice-Chancellor said the university had expanded its academic programmes from 26 to 54, while it had successfully accredited 32 programmes, with 27 programmes receiving full accreditation and 5 with interim accreditation.

Akinlo said the university African Centre of Excellence for the Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) had continued to make impact in its core mandate of combating the challenges posed by infectious diseases and other public health related issues.

The Vice-Chancellor, however, appreciated the visitor to the university, Pst. Enoch Adeboye, for his untiring support for the university.

“He has graciously contributed to the development process of the University.

“Our dear mother-in-Israel, Pst.(Mrs) Folu Adeboye, has also been a pillar of support to the growth of the university,”he said.
