… Says Ekiti North 1 Has Suffered Neglect, Launches “Imole Ekiti” Campaign
By Ayodele Abere

Apostle Ayodele David-Adesua, popularly known as “Imole Ekiti”, has declared his intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 on the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
The constituency covers Ikole and Oye Local Government Areas of Ekiti State.
In a statement released on Thursday, David-Adesua said the constituency has suffered inadequate representation in the National Assembly, resulting in poor development, scarce jobs and decaying infrastructure.
The cleric said he was entering the race with a burden to deliver development, prosperity and inclusive governance to the people of Ekiti Oke.
“For too long, Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 has cried out in the wilderness of Abuja. Our roads are left undone. Jobs are scarce. Our schools and hospitals are in need. Our voices have been muffled,” he stated.
“Imole de si Ekiti Oke – The light has come to Ekiti Oke. I present myself before you to contest for the House of Representatives to bring true representation and the dividends of democracy to our people.”
David-Adesua said he chose the NDC because of its ideology of “service to the people” and stressed that his ambition was not about power or titles but about serving humanity and the glory of God.
The NDC candidate outlined his agenda to focus on youth empowerment, women development and welfare for the elderly, whom he described as the builders of the land.
“I am not coming to represent myself. I am coming to represent you – the farmer in Ikole, the trader in Oye, the graduate seeking work, the widow, the student, and the elder on his walking stick,” he said.
He added that his campaign would be issue-based and community-driven, with a weekly unveiling of detailed policy plans ahead of the 2027 elections.
David-Adesua disclosed that he had commenced consultations with stakeholders across the constituency, starting with elders in Ijesa-Isu Ekiti, as well as Kabiyesis and chiefs.
He also said he was building a campaign team “that cuts across all political divides” because the movement was about people, not party.
The candidate explained that ADA stands for “capable and reliable to import dividends of democracy into the constituency for the benefit of all.”
He called on residents of Ikole and Oye to support his aspiration to rebuild Ekiti Oke together.
David-Adesua is the Baba Ewe of Ijesa-Isu Ekiti.
Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 comprises Ikole and Oye LGAs. The seat is currently occupied at the National Assembly and will be contested in the 2027 general elections.
