A ranking member and leader of the Ekiti State caucus in the House of Representatives, Hon Femi Bamisile, has lauded the leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti South Senatorial District for unanimously endorsing Governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term.
Bamisile, a former Ekiti Assembly Speaker, said the endorsement verdict further amplified the existing cohesion within APC political family, and confirmed how desirous the people are to back the governor to consolidate on his accomplishments as a leader.
Bamisile, in a statement issued in Abuja through his Media Office, said the Monday’s endorsement by APC members across the six local governments in the district, signaled that the party was poised for a resounding victory in the forthcoming governorship poll.
The APC leader added that the verdict further reinforced the confidence reposed in the governor by party people and the electorate, who have savoured good governance under the current government in the areas of road infrastructures, human capital development, employment generation, electricity supply, security and good governance, among others .
Bamisile stated that the groundswell of support being enjoyed by Governor Oyebanji accentuated the fact that he is a good leader to emulate and attested to the fact that Ekiti people are not ready to return to the era when miasma of corruption and abuse of office were the orders of the day.
He described Governor Oyebanji as a paragon of virtues of humility, honesty and good character, who deserves to rule Ekiti for eight years.
“Let me appreciate all our leaders for deeming it expedient to endorse this down to earth leader and his Deputy, Chief Monisade Afuye for second term. This is one honour well deserved.
“Going through the trajectory of their political participations, the duo had suffered with the progressive party in the trenches. Periscoping their performance in their offices, they have elevated the face of governance in our dear state. In the arena of politics, they are perfect match. No crisis and hiccups since they assumed office.
” Without the risk of being immodest, the six local governments in Ekiti South Senatorial district have benefited tremendously from the mastery of governance being wielded by Governor Oyebanji in the last two years, and this further made this endorsement more timely, deserving and grandiose”, he said.
Bamisile urged the governor and other party leaders to hearken to the voices of the people of the zone that the governorship ticket should be conceded to them in 2030, after the expiration of governor Oyebanji’s second term.
“This is the best way to ensure political balancing, fairness and equity among Ekiti people”, Bamisile stated.
