The Executive Chairman of Ise/Orun Local Government of Ekiti State, Hon Ayodele Samson Bamikole, on Thursday presented 2025 fiscal budget of N4bn before the legislative chamber of the council in Ise-Orun council secretariat.
According to him, the budget tagged: “Budget of economic growth and transformation” is an important fiscal document for sustainable development and the realization of a dream to create shared prosperity and selfless service for the good people of the LG.
Speaking with journalists, Hon Bamikole explained that the budget is aimed at creating employment and income generating opportunities for the people/youths in the LG.
The council Boss added that the implementation of the fiscal document will also improve Social Investment Programmes, Gender Mainstreaming and Women’s Empowerment, and to ensure that children in the Local Government have access to qualitative education in tandem with Human Capital Development Agenda of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.
“As a matter of fact, Budget is a statement of income and expenditure within a fiscal year. The 2025 Ise/Orun Local Government Budget total current year Receipts as proposed is Three Billion, Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Million Naira only (#3,999,000,000.00).
“This budget will help to create an environment to attract more Investment in agro-business for food security and support in growing Nigeria’s non-oil exports with priority given to strategic crops such as cassava, rice, cocoa, cashew, maize, yam and vegetables in line with Agriculture and Rural Development Agenda of Mr. Governor.
“It will also equitably distribute infrastructural facilities in order to allow and promote Industrial, Social and Economic Development of the Local Government in agreement with infrastructure and industrialization of Governor Oyebanji led Administration.
“It will promote the cherished culture and arts of our people in the Local Government Area as encapsulated in Arts, Culture, and Tourism agenda of Mr. Governor, and to provide good Governance based on participation, interaction and inclusiveness of all stakeholders in the Local Government Area”. He added
In his response, the leader of Ise/Orun Legislative Chamber, Hon Adeniyi Oluwasusi said the budget would be handed over to the house committee on finance for scrutiny and speedy passage.
Present at the budget presentation were representatives of traditional rulers, leaders of market women, religious leaders, management and staff of the council, among others.
