The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has enjoined the people of Ekiti State to come out enmass on Saturday 25th February, 2023 to vote for him as President and all the National Assembly candidates contesting under the umbrella of APC.
He equally canvassed for the candidates of the State House of Assembly in the State, who will be having their own election on Saturday 11th March, 2023 as he was warmly received by several supporters amidst joy and enthusiasm.
Tinubu made this appeal while addressing the mammoth crowd that came to welcome him and his running mate at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.
Asiwaju, who opined that Ekiti people are well read but with a lot of unemployed graduates said, enough of enslavement. Urging them all to go and collect their Permanent Voter Cards as he described their votes for him on election day as votes for emancipation. Saying he as a person, has accomplished almost all he needed in life. He said a vote for him is a vote for the masses.
According to the Presidential candidate, “you can request for whatever you want once I become the president of Nigeria” He urged his numerous supporters not to engage in fight or fracas with the members of the opposition parties but ensure that they all come out on election day and cast their votes for him and all APC candidates.
In his welcome address, the Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji equally implored the people of the State to go and get their PVC for them to be able to vote for Asiwaju, who he described as a worthy in-law to Ekiti people and other candidates contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress. He said Asiwaju has always been supporting Ekiti and enjoined them to pay him back this time around with massive votes.
On his part, the State Coordinator of Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council, Prince Akintade Olayisade, said events in the past few months have made it lucidly clear that both celestial and terrestrial forces are in absolute concurrence to Asiwaju’s eventual emergence as the emancipator of the voiceless not only in the Nigerian space but the entire sub-sahara Africa.
In his word, “there are times to sow seeds and times for harvest, times to be silent and times to boldly speak out. Asiwaju, you have observed this timeless admonition with Stoic dignity and philosophical assiduity. You have sown diligently, robustly and relentlessly into the contemporary democratic narrative and we make bold to say unapologetically that your case is not that of righteous, self- entitlement but a conviction of a divine mandate to change the course of history, motivate the largest nation of black men from lethargy, pull it back from historical precipice, place it on the path of sustainable growth, identity and hand over the baton to a new generation of whiz kids who will continue and upgrade your grandiose vision”. Said Olayisade.
Earlier, Asiwaju, has paid a courtesy call on Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, in his palace where he was accompanied by several leaders of the party.
