It was a moment of joy for the All Progressives Congress Candidate, Air Vice Marshal Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo (Rtd), who is vying for the post of House of Representatives in Ekiti South Constituency 2 of Ekiti State, as another feather was added to his cap on Monday 7th, November, 2022 in Imesi-Ekiti, when the Onimesi of Imesi Ekiti, HRM Oba Festus Olatunji Olatunde Ola Ibiyemi II, conferred on him an Award of Excellence, during the 2022 Odun Ade Oba festival of the community following his outstanding and impeccable character having served Nigerian Air Force meritoriously before he retired.
According to the monarch, the role played by AVM Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, as a Technical Adviser on Cargo Airport Project in Ekiti State, to see that the dream of having such Air Port in the State, through his professional advice cannot be overemphasized
Responding, AVM Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo, appreciated the traditional ruler for the honour saying “by this award I’m now the bonafide son of Imesi Ekiti and I will do everything possible within my capacity to be part of development and advancement of the town”. Ojuawo pledged.
Odun Ade is a traditional festival in Imesi Ekiti that is usually celebrated to foster love and unity among the people and friends of the communities.
