16 Professors Jostle For BOUESTI’S Vice-Chancellor Position


This was as a result of the tenure of the incumbent Vice-Chancellor of the institution Prof. Olufemi Victor Adeoluwa which draws to a close on January 5, 2026.


According to information from the office of the Registrar, nineteen (19) distinguished scholars submitted applications for the coveted position following the official advertisement of the vacancy.

After a rigorous preliminary screening process in line with the University’s statutes and extant regulations, sixteen (16) candidates have been shortlisted to proceed to the next stage of the selection exercise.

A release signed by the Public Relations Officer of the University,Temitope Akinbisoye said the next phase will involve interaction and assessment by the Joint Council and Senate Selection Committee, after which a report will be presented to the Governing Council for final consideration and recommendations to the Visitor to the University on the appointment of the most suitable candidate.

He said the Governing Council, under the leadership of Prof. Oladipo Aina, has assured the University community and the general public of a transparent, merit-driven and fair process that will further strengthen the academic and administrative excellence for which the University stands.

Prof. Adeoluwa, who assumed office in January 2021 as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor after the institution was upgraded from a College of Education, will complete his five-year tenure on January 5, 2026.

The University community and the academic world eagerly await the emergence of a new helmsman who will sustain the vision of transforming BOUESTI into a world-class centre of learning, innovation and service.
