Barring any last minute change of mind, at least 76 Senators-elect have signed to vote for Senator Godswill Akpabio as Senate President and Jubril Barau as Deputy Senate President respectively.
A highly placed source who witnessed when Senators -elect signed the list late Monday night, told our Correspondent that Akpabio/Barau Senate Presidency is a done deal.
The Source added that Akpabio /Barau have the support of entire Senators-elect in South West, South East , South South and some.states in the North as talks are still going on to get more Senators-elect to vote for Akpabio/Barau .
He said, ” as at.presemt, we have already have at least 76 Senators-elect who have appended their signatures for Akpabio-Barau Senate Presidency and we are still working to ensure that we have everybody on the same page.
” We continue to reach to every Senators-elect so that we will have harmonious Senate after the election.
” It is very sure that Akpabio is the next Senate President, but we want to bring everybody on board”.
